Sponsors whose program requires a specific model not covered by the most common research species.
Research animal retirement and lifetime care, now available through Alpha Genesis. Professionally managed lifetime care for retired research primates, with expert social reintroduction into stable outdoor groups led by veterinary staff deeply experienced in laboratory-animal medicine.

Beyond its core species, Alpha Genesis supports additional and custom NHP models on a sponsor-specific basis, including spider monkeys, pigtailed macaques, baboons, and marmosets, for North American and global development programs. We have supported additional species on request before.
Some programs need a model outside the most common research species. Alpha Genesis works with sponsors to assess whether an additional or custom NHP model fits a specific study, drawing on our veterinary depth and hands-on experience across multiple species.
Models supported on a sponsor-specific basis include spider monkeys (Ateles), pigtailed macaques (Macaca nemestrina), baboons (Papio), and marmosets (Callithrix), among others. We define sourcing and husbandry for the specific model together with the sponsor as part of program planning.
All custom-model engagements are subject to feasibility assessment, protocol qualification, IACUC approval, and applicable veterinary, regulatory, transportation, import/export, permitting, and animal-welfare requirements, and are available for research clients.
Sponsors whose program requires a specific model not covered by the most common research species.
Programs with defined species requirements for infectious-disease, biodefense, or specialized research objectives.
Researchers requiring a particular model species for mechanistic, comparative, or translational work.
Partners seeking species access or specialized husbandry and study support to complement their programs.
Custom-model engagements start with your model requirement and objectives. Our scientific, veterinary, and operations teams define how the model is supported and scope the program jointly with the sponsor.
Custom and additional models are supported only where they can be housed, cared for, and studied to Alpha Genesis standards. Compliance is expected; the differentiator is the veterinary depth and species-specific care that let us support less-common models responsibly.
Experience across Old World and New World primates supports informed feasibility assessment for less-common models.
We assess sourcing, husbandry suitability, and regulatory requirements directly, rather than over-committing to a model that cannot be supported well.
Custom-model work can be coordinated with rodent and core NHP studies within one program and one set of standards.
Beyond accreditation, sponsors get documentation discipline built for less-common models. AAALAC-accredited and USDA-licensed operations, OLAW-assured and backed by IACUC oversight, produce records, consistent with internationally recognized GLP expectations, that support sponsor and regulatory review for global development programs.
Veterinary oversight, enrichment, and behavioral management are applied to every species we support.
A defined feasibility-and-scoping process helps sponsors understand quickly whether a model can be supported and on what timeline.
Models including spider monkeys, pigtailed macaques, baboons, and marmosets are supported on a sponsor-specific basis, among others. Our veterinary, scientific, and operations teams plan sourcing, husbandry, and regulatory requirements around the specific model and program.
Tell us the model you need and your study objectives. We will assess feasibility, sourcing, and regulatory requirements and respond on whether and how it can be supported.
